Education
The only school in Dubai under agreement with AEFE (agency of french teaching abroad) :
LFIGP provides educational needs at all levels with the objectives, programs, methods and instructions set by the French Ministry of National Education, and prepares students for the Diplome National du Brevet (DNB) as well as the French Baccalaureate in the 3 main streams (Literary/ Social sciences & economics / Science) along with international options.
The success rates of these two tests vary between 97 and 100% every year, with a majority of honours.
Contract institutions are managed by private law associations, French or foreign, and along with a financial and educational administrative agreement with the AEFE. This agreement shall include the conditions of employment and remuneration of permanent staff of National Education and the awarding of scholarships. These institutions have with AEFE a constant dialogue management.
The LFIGP is run by a managerial association board elected among parents (12 people).
Educational characteristics.
• From the Kindergarden, students can take courses in multilingual parity schedule French – English. The monitoring program is the French curriculum, half of the lessons in English. The system is currently ongoing from kindergarden to G1, and will expand year after year.
• Students who are not enrolled in bilingual classes, starting from kindergarten, also attend English classes.
• From G1 until G12 (Terminale), are available (mandatory for all from G1 to G9) Arabic courses based on students skills.
• From G8, students can enroll in « European English Section » to obtain later, a mention « European Section English » on their baccalaureate diploma.
• From G10, an International Section (British curriculum) leading to the Option of International Baccalaureate, OIB, will be implemented in September 2014.
• In G8, to the teaching of Arabic will be added one of the 2 other languages (German or Spanish). Languages will keep a weekly schedule of 3 hours throughout the Secondary.
• As for options (elective), we offer Latin from G7, Arabic from G10 as well as different teachings and exploration courses…
