The LFIGP Councils: Governance and Participation

At the Lycée Français International Georges Pompidou (LFIGP), the Councils play a key role in guiding school and educational life. They ensure shared and participatory governance by involving various stakeholders from the educational community in decisions concerning organization, educational projects, and school conditions. These bodies are organized as follows: the institution, the preschool and primary schools, and the secondary school.

1. The School Council:

The central body of governance, it ensures coordination between the different levels of education (preschool, primary, secondary) and makes strategic decisions regarding the life of the institution.
Composed of members of the management team, teachers, and representatives of parents and students, it meets regularly to discuss developments and school decisions.

2. The School Councils (Primary and Preschool)

These councils are specific to the preschool and primary schools of LFIGP and focus on educational and organizational matters tailored to these levels. Presided over by the principals of each school, they bring together teachers, parent representatives, and other members of the educational community to address school projects, the internal regulations, and school enrollment conditions.

3. The Secondary School Council

It prepares the work of the School Council for the secondary section and plays an advisory role on key issues, such as teaching structures, the organization of school time, school trips, and the secondary school regulations. It is composed of members of the leadership team, teachers, parents, and students, and meets before each School Council to prepare the discussions and decisions.

The school and secondary councils provide a space for dialogue and collaboration, allowing each member of the school community to actively contribute to the life of the institution. They are a fundamental pillar of the LFIGP’s operation, promoting collective and informed decision-making in a spirit of transparency and commitment.
