Kindergarten

The Oud Metha Kindergarten School managed with care and attention by Mrs. Béatrice Mathevet, welcomes 400 students from Petite Section to Grande Section, spread across 16 classes. The teaching team includes 20 educators and 17 teaching assistants, while the canteen staff consists of 6 members. The school is located in the heart of Dubai, close to the Alliance Française and the French Business Council.

Completely renovated in 2014, the school boasts modern facilities designed for young children, including spacious classrooms with computer equipment and interactive whiteboards, shaded playgrounds with play structures, as well as amenities like a clinic, library, gymnasium, and a pedagogical kitchen.

An extracurricular activity program, including workshops in arts, crafts, cooking, theater, and dance, is offered daily from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM. The school hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 2:45 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.

The Role of Kindergarten School

Kindergarten School is a crucial step in children's educational development. Its primary mission is to inspire a love of learning and help students grow in their personalities. It is based on a fundamental principle: all children are capable of learning and progressing.

At preschool, children develop their oral language and begin discovering written language, numbers, and other areas of learning. Teachers promote learning through play, reflection, problem-solving, and memorization, all while encouraging social interactions.

Learning at Kindergarten School

Teaching is organized around five key areas of learning:

1. ● Mobilizing language in all its dimensions: Oral language stimulation and a gradual introduction to written culture are essential priorities of preschool education

4. ● Building the first tools to structure thought: This domain helps children understand their environment and stimulate their curiosity, based on their initial knowledge and life experiences

Moments of arrival, recess, as well as rest and nap times, are also important educational moments, supervised by adults, to provide children with reassuring and caring reference points.

Teachers vary learning situations to meet the needs of both the group and each individual child, using play, problem-solving, and other suitable methods.
