Head of UAE Nationals Engagement & Student Affairs (Senior Leadership Role)


The Lycée Français International Georges Pompidou (LFIGP) is a leading AEFE-accredited French curriculum school in Dubai, educating nearly 2,600 students from Kindergarten to Secondary.

As part of its continued commitment to strengthening engagement with UAE National families and enhancing student outcomes, LFIGP is recruiting a Head of UAE Nationals Engagement & Student Affairs to play a central role in fostering trust, cultural alignment, and student success within the school community.


The Role
Reporting directly to the Principal, the Head of UAE Nationals Engagement & Student Affairs will serve as the school’s senior point of reference for UAE National students and families.
The role combines strategic advisory, pastoral leadership, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the experience of UAE National students is fully supported, culturally aligned, and integrated within the school’s academic framework.

Operating at the intersection of leadership, student wellbeing, and community engagement, the role acts as a critical bridge between UAE National families and the institution, supporting both day-to-day matters and long-term relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Student Affairs & Wellbeing
  • Act as the senior advocate for UAE National students across all school sections
  • Monitor academic progress, attendance, behavior, and overall wellbeing
  • Identify early concerns and coordinate targeted interventions with school leadership and support teams
  • Support key student transitions (admissions, phase progression, graduation pathways)

2. Parent Engagement & Relationship Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for UAE National parents
    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with families
    • Lead and support meetings related to academic, behavioral, or pastoral matters
    • Manage concerns professionally and ensure appropriate escalation where required
    1. Advisory to School Leadership
    • Advise the Principal and leadership team on UAE cultural expectations and sensitivities
    • Support the handling of complex or sensitive matters involving UAE National students and families
    • Contribute to leadership discussions impacting student experience and community engagement

    4. Cultural Alignment & National Identity

      • Support UAE National Identity initiatives and cultural programs across the school
      • Promote awareness and understanding of UAE culture within the broader school community
      • Ensure alignment between the French/international curriculum and the UAE cultural context

      5. Admissions, Onboarding & Student Journey

        • Support the onboarding of UAE National students and families
        • Guide parents through admissions, orientation, and school processes
        • Ensure clarity on academic pathways, expectations, and school policies

        6. Compliance, Safeguarding & Reporting

          • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to student engagement
          • Support KHDA and AEFE inspections and reporting requirements
          • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and child protection policies
          1. Academic Support (Arabic Language)
          • Oversee and support the coordination of Arabic language teaching across middle and upper secondary levels
          • Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment of Arabic instruction with KHDA expectations
          • Work closely with Arabic teachers and academic leadership to support student outcomes
          • Provide classroom support and substitute Arabic teachers when required to ensure continuity of learning

          8. Emiratisation & Talent Development

            • Support the school’s Emiratisation strategy and objectives
            • Identify, attract, and engage high-potential UAE National candidates for current and future roles
            • Build relationships with relevant institutions, networks, and stakeholders to strengthen the Emirati talent pipeline
            • Advise leadership on Emiratisation priorities, gaps, and opportunities
            • Contribute to improving the school’s performance against national workforce expectations

            Profile

            • Strong understanding of UAE culture, traditions, and family dynamics
            • Proven experience in education, student affairs, or community engagement
            • Excellent Arabic communication skills (spoken and written)
            • Professional working proficiency in English
            • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism
            • Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities
            • Structured, proactive, and service-oriented approach
              Desirable:
            • Experience within an international or bilingual school environment
            • Familiarity with KHDA and/or AEFE frameworks
